A slideshow of my past work

Here is a quick look at some of my previous work.

Here is another old black and white piece of mine. It is an abstract face, or at least that's what it is to me. I haven't even looked at this one in so long that I am really enjoying what I am seeing when I view it now. It really has to be viewed in fullscreen to be fully realized. I wanted to explain the process behind putting something like this on paper but I just don't know how. It's not like there is a set out plan, it's more like sitting down to draw and an hour later you have this weird slightly disturbing jumble of shapes sitting before you. I can liken the process to ridding a bull, you don't control it you just hold on and hope you can stay on top of it.

Cornelius and his amazing Whip battle the Funnelweb Twins

Yes, yes I remember when I made this. I had a broken pen and the ink was flowing liberally, i pressed it against the paper and let the ink blob up into large shiny black pools. I then used the pens tip to stretch and swirl the ink. What I came up with was an abstraction, it looks like a little man on the right fighting two spiders with his whip. Of course you could read anything into an image like this. Sorry about the dank gray quality of the background, this was before I had a scanner and My photography skills were still budding. I would like to hear from you what you see, it's kind of like a Rorschach test...except its not symmetrical, but is is made from ink! Oh and that little acorn looking thing below the middle spider's leg is actually a grenade, it looks like Cornelius threw it but forgot to pull the pin!

A journal and a snapshot of my personal artwork and reflections on inspiration and motivation.

Greetings rabid masses! My name is Will W. and this is my breathtaking new blog, and will you look at that, as I type this the spellcheck doesn't recognize the word blog, or spellcheck for that matter. But seriously folks, allow myself to introduce myself, or should that be explain myself? I am currently attending class at Edmonds community College with an interest in pursuing a VISCO degree. In my spare time I have always enjoyed drawing and expressions of myself on paper. I am passionate about art and if I had my druthers I would turn that passion into a career. I also happen to be a huge fan of video games, so I figure if I can blend my love of both art and games I can live out something that resembles a life of fulfilment. As I stand metaphorically before you I am little more than an armature hobbyist, that's Hobby-ist not Hobbit. But Plan to work hard and move it on up. So anyways, I wanted to share some of my art with you and do a little explaining about my processes and motivations. If you haven't left by now, press onward and enjoy.
